ABOUT THE ARTIST
Never one to have a day off, Du Toit Bredenkamp has managed to garner credits in a variety of creative fields including stage and screen performance, and composition.
Du Toit started learning piano at the age of 9 and took to it like a fish to water. After graduating with a Bachelor of music in classical piano from the Western Australian Academy of the Performing Arts' Conservatorium of Music, Du Toit shifted his learning to acting and graduated with another Bachelor of Arts from WAAPA, this time in Musical Theatre.
While at WAAPA Du Toit acted as musical director for several productions and started to write songs for the incredible voices he heard around him. In his final year at university his musicality and story-telling combined to culminated in his winning of the Julie Michaels Cabaret Competition, and he has not stopped composing since.
During the 2020 Covid-19 lockdowns in Melbourne, Du Toit produced a digital song cycle, For In Dreams. He wrote 9 original songs and directed 12 actors to film and record his original music from their homes. Watch the YouTube premiere here.

After graduating in 2014, Du Toit was cast as Rolf in GFO's 2015 Australian touring production of The Sound of Music. He was also part of the 2018 Louise Withers production of Mamma Mia! the musical.
On screen Du Toit has portrayed the role of Russell Morris in Channel 7's Molly and the role of Brandon Williams in the ABC drama, Janet King. Du Toit learned how to play bass guitar when he starred as Dick Diamonde in the AACTA Award nominated mini-series, Friday On My Mind, about Australian rock legends, The Easybeats, and made his US screen debut in 2019 in the final season of AMC and SONY Television's Preacher.
